Resumen
Taiga Kuzumi is a resolute student who hopes to enroll into the elite Seinagi Private High School. But for some reason, the school rejects him, despite believing he aced the written test. Also strange is that he is unable to recall the events of his interview. Nonetheless, Taiga does remember one thing: the laughter of a cute and attractive girl who was present at the time.
Eager to meet her again, Taiga wanders up to Seinagi's school gates in hopes of seeing her. Instead, he is met with the peculiar sight of a teacher hovering above the ground! As it turns out, Seinagi Private High School is actually a secret magic school, where its students are taught the arts of spellworking.
In order to conceal this fact, the school decides Taiga must join them as a first-year student. However, such comes with its own problems, as Taiga is the only one who cannot use magic in a school that otherwise brims with talented young magicians!

Mx0 (manga) 7/7/7/7/7
First things first. My "reviews" system is explained on a blog entry. Which can be found through my profile. ------ ✦Story✦ Rather straightforward from zero to high level battle shounen. It's simply, enjoyable and fun. Has romance, has fights, has magic and plenty of fun events. Nothing else to add. I enjoyed it. It had rather interesting magic system as well to it. Sadly.. the whole Manga ends after the "tutorial" arc per se. ✦Art✦ Clear, straightforward and fun enough. ✦Character✦ Plenty of fun stereotypes. There an actually rather solid character development with rather hopeful romance development. Characters grew emotionally, main character grew in power. Anyhow, a lot of enjoyable characters. ✦Enjoyment & Overall✦ Simple and fun, nothing too unique. Sadly it was stopped rather early. Would gladly want a sequel to see how everything would end up. |

Well this is my favorit Manga of all. since i like story with magic school this has became my favorit. This manga has so much comedy i watched whole 99chapter at least 23 times, i am still re reading this again. The more and more you read it made me want to read more. but sadly the auther wrote only to chapter 99 till half semester of first year kuzumi Taiga enterd the school. for people who like romance comedy and mahou manga I strongly suggest this manga. (also try reading pretty face, it was made by same auther)

This will be my first time writing a review but I think this manga deserves it.
The story is different from most magical school stories out there. We are not dealing with a magical prodigy, our protagonist isn't magician of any sort, he is just a normal person who must try to keep his lack of powers hidden from his fellow classmates that expect a lot from him due to a misunderstanding. This sets up numerous events and trials that our MC has to go through. Any story would be boring if there was no goal at the end. Luckily this story has one, the main drive of our protagonist is to obtain magic but not for something grandeur like saving the world but instead to help a friend. To obtain magic our MC must prove himself to the school. This ensures that our MC doesn't simply hide in the shadows during incidents but instead appear at the center of attention. These are the key points of the manga that I like and if you're into the magical school setting I recommend you to read this. |

This is another great manga from the mangaka of Pretty Face, strong all the way through with well sized arcs that don't drag on. Overall, a great story that well differentiated from others in the same genre. The characters were well created, especially the main, who for once isn't an idiot and is rather good at exploiting the situation (no spoilers). The comedy is well done and will keep you laughing. However, the ending was hurried and a bit weak due to the sudden deserialization of the series. I really wish that this continued for a lot longer and was made into an anime (same
with Pretty Face). Still a great read though, I definitely recommend it.
If you liked 'Pretty Face' you will like this and vice-a-versa along with the mangaka's new series 'Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa'. |

Every once in a while, works of art get released but are overlooked by other mainstream articles. MxO starts out great, keeps on rolling, then is a victim in a head on collision with Mahou Sensei Negima!. Thus enters MxO, a magic school manga that in my honest opinion could of been as good if not better than others in its genre.
Story: 7/10 Its plot is centered around the generic magic school setting; kids go to a magic school kept away from normal society. However, the twist is that the story develops into an original epic that has many memorable moments. It may seem boring from the first chapter but as you read on you notice how well the story develops due to the supporting cast and uniqueness it brings to the magic school genera. The story starts out with Taiga Kuzumi who thinks he is being interviewed to join a well known private high school. Things don't go very well and he somehow finds his way into a fight with teacher Kenjirou Hiiragi who has a strange card that can produce magic. He then realizes that the school might be different from ones he had attended in the past. From here he is admitted to the school and enjoys his life as he meets new friends and confronts antagonists. The problem I have with the school life/ magic school genera is at first I am overwhelmed with intrigue for the story and its characters, but I soon begin to loose interest as the arcs cycle threw. When reading Lucky Star I felt this way about 6 volumes through and found myself reading it in very short bursts. In MxO the author found a way to evenly balance out every arc so that when the interest starts to slither away, something happens that puts you back in the action. Another thing the story does well is the implementation of new characters sparingly. Having a lot of characters can either make or break a story. It works great in Mahou Sensei Negima!; not so great in Naruto. MxO by the end of the story does have a pretty hefty amount of characters but they are added in very small chunks. They are also not added unnecessarily as every time someone new comes along, they serve a purpose whether it being to start a conflict or save the day. I can say that every arc was very interesting except the unfortunately short last one which I will talk about at the end. Art: 7.5/10 The art in MxO does have a style of its own...sometimes in a good way and other times in a detached manor. Facial expressions start out with over exaggerated features and overly proportioned drawings to help show you who is important and in situational moments where the momentum is being shifted. The artwork is clean in about 85% of the manga...it's just some stuff in the beginning and half way through the story it's seems to change, then revert back. In a way think of it like what is going on in Bleach. When it first started, Bleach's Ichigo had very definitive facial expressions but has the story progressed, all of the character models started to have the same look and even more the very recent chapters have a completely different art style. Some say having the artwork change with the story helps show progression, however it does not work for me here. The last volume however has some of the cleanest and well defined character models I have ever seen. Each character has a definitive look and body language. Characters: 8.3/10 Where the art somewhat lets down the overall manga, the characters somewhat make up some of the slack. Each character whether they were important or extraneous, had a very strong impact on my reading experience. Taiga unfortunately has that wimpy gene that a lot of male leads start out with but the surrounding casts help break him out of his shell. Aika Hiiragi, a girl Taiga has feelings for right at the start, can be overly emotional and a klutz, but her back and forth arguments that happen between herself, Taiga, and her father Kenjirou Hiiragi are hilarious as situational humor occurs all the time. She is also a strong female lead when the story needs her to be. Other characters such as Takahiko Daimon and Lucy completely make the story flow the way it needs to. Overall: 7.6/10 So what did MxO do correctly? A lot of things which include a very well done supporting cast, exciting and orginal story arcs that did not drag, and a good frame work for a sequel. Now I mentioned a sequel...this leads into one thing the story did horribly, horribly, wrong. If you go any blog relating to this manga you will most likely run into people talking about the ending. Remember how the story got into a wreck with other mainstream manga? Well unfortunately the manga was doing fairly poor in weekly popularity tests so fairly early in the final volume, there is a abrupt; more like a halt in the story. It is painfully obvious the ending was hashed together at the very last second while another arc was going on. The ending does however leave it wide open to be continued if that would ever happen. The story had the premise to be a 200+ chapter epic such as Bleach and Fairy Tail but was cut short. It is still worth a read as it is very original, full of epic moments, and a pretty well rounded cast. Enjoyment: 8/10 Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page! Sincerely, Awesome Drummer |

At last! after watching many series im really happy to see ONE! that the principal character is FUN, KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT, SECURE, FAST, not the typical stupid boy who cant fight, cant talk , cant move, everything...and has to learn from the beginning.
The story i loved it...magic....ohhh yea.....girls....and the other characters were good..... One thing i dislike its doesnt have the second part....damn! there is no continuation...but its good very good manga. hoping to be anime but the manga gets cut off for japanese people disliked, so i guess there wouldnt be anime. The first chapters are kind of lame...but if you keep watching this you get sucked in the story and you start to like the main character....its nice to look someone who can fight back AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERIES....really nice. But i guess thats what japanese people disliked....because the like more the character who is evolving through the series....from a useless piece of worm to A BIG SUPER HERO with tons of girls around.... Yeap here he just got two girls........so maybe thats what Japan people say wtf just two girls?------- |

*Might contain Spoiler
I might rate this manga 9/10 instead of 8 IF only there is a continuation from the manga. I have to admit, it's was a huge cliffhanger for me. there is a lot of things that made me wonder for the whole series. despite that, I'm still enjoying the manga. it was a good story overall. Pros - overall it was a good story - the main character is really good, not wimpy, brave, straightforward, and less dense Cons At the moment, I really don't have anything negative about this manga...if there is one it woulld be - Uncomplete ending. might change in the future |

Mx0 is a Shounen, Supernatural, Action, Romantic, Comedy that tries to do so much, of what has already been done before, but it does it all fantastically well.
The story follows your not-so-typical delinquent student (Taiga Kuzumi) who wasn’t able to get into “Seinagi Private High School” and he believes it’s the cause of a certain girl (Aika Hiiragi) during the interview. So he breaks into the school to meet her again but he’s surprised to discover that it is a magic school and after a hilarious twist of events he ends up transferring as a student of the school. Not so surprising for a shounen manga and this would have been your average Rom/Com if it wasn’t for the well implemented supernatural element & awesome characters. The story’s set up so well and in between the usual high school antics are a bunch of mini arcs, lasting a couple chapters, which focus on a particular story or event (exams, matches, training, etc). However for whatever reason, this manga was canned, just when things were getting real interesting so the ending may feel rushed. The characters consist of the typical personalities found in your average high school comedy but that isn’t entirely a bad thing, as they all are integral parts that make up this story. Of course Taiga Kuzumi is the male protagonist that it all revolves around and you’ll remember him for being the greatest fraudster/trickster ever. Seeing him go through hell and still come out on top is a great experience. What’s more is that he manages to surprise us with his intuitive thinking, whilst never forgetting to make a witty comment or try to act cool. However what’s odd is that the love interest is just an ordinary girl instead of the usual hottie found in shounen material. At least it allows Taiga Kuzumi to stand out. The quality of the artwork is great, with this manga having decently drawn backgrounds/environments and the character designs are brilliant and somewhat imaginative. However when things get very action oriented, the artwork gets pretty messy, making some situations hard to follow. Overall Mx0 is a hilarious and highly enjoyable Action Rom/Com with an incredibly diverse Supernatural side to it, having a lot of thought put into the Magic System. The story is amazing because it is set out, in a way that the reader is taken on a ride and will never stop rooting for the main character. Nonetheless this type of magic school thing has been done already, yet if you don’t mind then you are sure to enjoy all the magical fun. This is definitely a manga worthy of an animated adaptation, so be sure to check it out, even though you may be saddened by the abrupt ending. |

Oh man this is suuuuuch a good manga all the way through EXCEPT for the ending! And it's not the mangaka's fault; WSJ cancelled it because it had low readership which honestly just baffles me.
It's about a kid who gets into a magic school by some crazy misunderstanding and then has to fend for himself at said magic school WITHOUT actually having magic (but everyone else thinks he's a gold magic user). I was hooked from the beginning; the art is really excellent (10+++++), the characters are lovable and well-developed, the story is fun and hilarious and interesting!!! IDG WHY IT WAS CANCELLED!!! Taiga Kuzumi is honestly one of the most lovable characters I've ever come across in manga; like other shounen heros, he has that never-give-up attitude, but he's also hilarious, prone to mistakes, has crushes, and does a lot of funny cute things lol. Loved how he was drawn too. Lots of the scenarios were just so funny, especially how he uses his smarts to get out of situations where he can't do any magic lol. Fun and fast paced until the last two chapters where the whole story just ends really unsatisfactorily and abruptly. I was bummed :(. I want to see Kuzumi in something else; he is a great character. |
