Fullmetal Alchemist was the first anime/manga that I ever saw, and after reading tons of other stories it's still my favorite. Maybe I'm being a little biased because it was the one that really got me into anime, but I'm not lying when I tell you it is a phenomenal piece of work.

For one, the artwork is amazing. It's some of the nicest I've seen and certainly keeps your eyes wanting to continue to look, which I think is a vital part about manga 'cause lets face it; who wants to look at something that isn't appealing to their eyes?

Another is the story. It isn't just battle scene after battle scene; there are battles but they have depth to them and are done for a purpose, not just for the sake of having an intense battle. It has depth to it with the whole scenario of two brothers who are trying to make their life better after having so much gone wrong and you get to go on the journey with them an watch them grow. If you like comedy, it has it; If you like action, it has it; If you like romance, it sort of has it XD; it has all the elements of a memorable story.

The characters are another reason to keep reading. There is a character for everyone to love in this series.

This is the weirdest portrayal of Miyamoto Musashi you didn't ask for.

There's not much to be said about this manga, you will follow 4 short stories (the title means 4x4, meaning 16 guardian deities of Buddhism) revolving around Musashi's dealing with tragedies of different women who reminds him of his trauma of losing his older sister, with who he had some level of an incestuous relationship (yes you read that right, Miyamoto Musashi the warrior with onee-san fetish complex).

If you are not for the art, which is a decent Gekiga art, this manga may be a huge letdown. And yet on this matter, it is not all that amazing because the author uses a lot of repeated panels with the exact same facial expressions.

I read this on a whim due to my how much I enjoyed the look of the main character and the art of Yukiru Sugisaki in general, and I can assure you I was not displeased.

Story: It's simple and is something seen so many times before, but it's written in a way that makes it feel fresh and unique. It can be a bit dark in dealing with the topic of racism, it doesn't take away from the overall sweetness of this series.

Art: The art, as I mentioned earlier, is something I'm quite fond of and the entire reason I read this manga in the first place, especially since Yukiru Sugisaki is my all time favorite mangaka when it comes to art. It has a unique and "cartoony" look to it, while still maintaining the "anime/manga" vibe, which is something I enjoy about the other works of the creator.

Characters: The characters are what stand out the least to me, Minii, while being one of my favorite characters in all of anime and manga, is simple, but that simplicity works for her since the story is quite simple as well, her design is probably my favorite part about her character. Her friend character is far from memorable, i can't even remember his name, though he isn't bad, but he isn't great either. As for the other characters such as the prince, I've only read 1 chapter and don't know much about them, though from what I see, their character and personalities seem to compliment that of Minii's.

Enjoyment: I had an absolute blast reading this manga, the simplicity of it allowed me to take a few moments to just relax, unwind, and get sucked into the story.

Overall: All in all, I recommend this series to those who enjoy sweet and simple things, or would just like a quick read. The MC is cute and I found myself smiling while reading it. Definitely check it out if you have a little bit of free time!

Oh my god... I’m on only 15 chapters in and I’d say this is one chaotic interesting ride to be a part of.

The author depicts the characters in an abnormal way which flows well with the art throughout the narrative. The story follows a young boy that has to deal with abuse and countless torture until... He breaks from the sadistic shackles and reverses time. Now this is where the real revenge happens and damn does it get messy for the enemy of the mc. Generally, the art is pleasing to the eyes, it adds depth to the story overall with how the setting, characters and actions are drawn out. I think this will be appealing to sadists because of the constant harm done to the characters. Side note: you’ll not enjoy this if you hate r@pe, abuse and etc. I’d recommend it though (only if you want your sanity to be taken away)

I had picked up red sprite randomly. Like, really randomly. I scanned for a new manga. ANY new manga. Red sprite was the only manga with 1 chapter out. So I just went in and read it. For a one-shot, it seemed to be very interesting.

After reading 8 chapters, I note a high semblance to the plot and the setting of FMAB in a slightly different pretense.

I believe that this will be a series with great potential. I would follow it closely. The plot really escalated in the last two chapters. I'm sure that the anime would be fabulous.

For what I have seen till now, there are many action scenes and some decent quality drawings. I don't think any more can be said this early.

All in all a great shounen manga with an interesting plot and a prospective storyline.

I had such high hopes for this story like it had such a strong start. I thought this would become one of the regular series that I would read but when I entered the last chapter I was so disappointed with the story. People hate long series especially shonen because they tend to be dragged and milked for every last cent.

This series has the opposite problem. If it becomes an anime, I would want filler, lots and lots of it because this series lacked commitment. Not substance, it had plenty of that with its interesting characters and plot. It just felt like the author was rushing through the series to get it done. It could have been at least 15 chapters longer than what it was, maybe more.

The story was definitely of the typical shonen variety but it had an interesting concept about Golems which I didn't think a story about Golems could be interesting but boy did it blow me away. And the main character was so engaging and interesting and I didn't find him the slight bit annoying.

It had the typical main character having a dream about being the strongest except with a twist because the only reason the MC wanted to prove himself was so people could acknowledge the skill of his master who created him as being the best.

It was like the author couldn't make up their mind at what point in the story they wanted to be in. Our MC first appears when he is really strong, helps to defend a village from attack, then we see him in his childhood where we get his backstory, skip to a time skip where he is trying to pass the test that would make him an Arcanist and then another time-skip where he is magically the best Arcanist.....seriously....I honestly don't know how point B going straight to point D while completely ignoring point C of the story.

The journey is what makes a read fun, not the destination...aka...why I'm happy One Piece has last over two decades already, it would have been a boring series if it only lasted 5 years as intended. Not saying all series should last that long but if you have something good, don't blow its potential away after 15 chapters. Develop it, nurture it and it will pay off. Clearly, the mangaka did not get the memo.

I was so crushed by this series....like it could have been something. Like it had an angsty Sasuke like character in it for crying out loud. You know it was bound to be good with just that but nope. All that potential went down the drain. Honestly, it's not even worth reading because you're going to end up sucked in and the next minute its like you're falling from a cliff of "I Wasted My Time For This S***".

Alright, this was actually a rather cute story about a family cooping with the loss of a loved one. I actually felt a lot for this one shot, more so then many of the others. It had taste, it had class, and actually didn’t need any more to it then just what it gave us. The store line is simple and rather cleanly made giving us all the information that we need. We get a good feeling of what Haruki is going through trying to be responsible and fill the shoes of his brother but always feeling that his brother may still come back to take his place again.

The artwork is beautiful and though it still has the same style as many of the other mangas, the story seems to make the artwork feel almost out of this world beautiful. It’s hard to figure that out but it does work out.

This is one that everyone should read at least once in their life. It’s short enough that it will not take up to much time.

Kentaro Yabuki's art is absolute perfection as always, but the censorship wall hits way too hard (if you read To Love RU you know what I'm going through).

The story is... not that interesting in my opinion, maybe it's because only 19 chapters have been released until now, but I don't really see it going to be THAT interesting in the future either. 4/10

The art, as I stated earlier, is absolutely amazing. Kentaro Yabuki knows what he's doing, and he does it perfectly. 10/10

The characters... are not that interesting either. The only thing to spice things up is the gender bender factor. 5/10

I can't say I'm not enjoying the manga, but it's still only for the art really.

Overall I can't give this manga more than 7/10, the story really doesn't seem to be that interesting to me. I would've loved to give it more points only because Kentaro Yabuki is my favorite mangaka, but that's what it is at the moment.

Too bad it was serialized on shonen jump.

I found this manga utterly incomprehensible, to the point where it became impossible to care because I just didn't understand what was happening. There were plenty of beautifully-drawn shots of mecha battling, but at no point in time did I ever understand who was in what mech, who I should be rooting for, what was happening in the battle or even who was winning and who was losing. It may partially be that I was younger when I read the series and thus had a more difficult time picking up on the more unspoken rules and stylistic choices of manga in general, but even going back and looking now it's barely comprehensible. It definitely feels like a work that is only going to be palatable to someone who has seen the anime it was based on, though I don't honestly know what someone would get out of the manga that they didn't get out of the show, not having seen it myself. For anyone who lacks the context of the anime it's based on, this series has very little to offer besides some well-drawn panels.

If you want to read this series, it’s best you stop right there. Let me give you some advice, don’t read axed series.

If you end up finishing it without particularly liking it, good on you. But if you end up enjoying it, it will only hurt you. You’ll ponder about what could’ve happened if it wasn’t axed. The potential it had. The story you wanted to experience.

This is what I experienced with Time Paradox. Honestly, I saw this coming. Although it had an interesting premise, it was quite questionable. Plagiarism isn’t exactly a good thing, especially in the manga industry. While this manga definitely doesn’t outright encourage it, it’s not like it’s particularly discouraging it either. This turned off many readers, especially in Japan.

Well, on the bright side, it wasn’t axed as brutally as another certain series earlier this year. It had a conclusion to the story, which is always better than nothing. I expect good things from this author, and I hope they can get another series out in the future.
