Pumpkin Night review
Story: 1
Art: 5
Character: 2
Enjoyment: 1
OVerall: 2
This is torture porn. Well, ther'es no porn, but ton of torture. The manga is about a crazy killer running around murdering people in most cruel way possible. All of it is depicted directly.
The artist is skilled, I can give him that, but the story basically revolves around endless onscreen mutilation, dismemberment, torture, cruelty, etc. with every tiny bits of torn gore depicted as accurately as possible. The story weakly attempts to justify such behavior, but this is not noteworthy.
Basically.... avoid. The level of gore is extreme, the manga attempts to throw people's guts at your face in order to shock you, and story is nearly non-existent.
So the best idea is to avoid it.

Pumpkin Night review
I found out about Pumpkin Night through a Discord bot after the design of main character, Kirino Naoko, struck out to me. From looking into it i have found the most brutal, gory, torture-porn piece of media i've seen since Saw 6. And I fucking love it.
Pumpkin Nights is if you take every single 80's slasher film and combine them into some sort of gory cheesy amalgamation and shove it into a japanese comic book form. Of course this also means it has a lot of the downsides of those movies.
Almost every single character is stiff and two-dimensional, making it so you're never really attached to a character whenever any horrific event happens to them. These characters also make extremely idiotic choices, again, much like an old slasher flick. The only thing that i genuinely disliked and didn't find endearing in any way was the manga's tendency to bring up points that either have no relevance, or have much less relevance then expected.
Of course, we can't only talk about negatives, can we? Where Pumpkin Night exceeds is with its gore. Whenever a kill is shown, it spares no details and shows every gritty detail, while keeping every one unique and disturbing. There's always eyeballs and intestines and decapitated limbs in every scene, and the art works great for it. I also couldn't help but fall in love with the cliche but also appealing design of Naoko, and her signature weapon hitting that perfect balance of goofy and over the top.
In the end, Pumpkin Night isn't perfect, or even good to some people, if you are a fan of cheesy horror or gore I heavily recommend this. Now to wait for the next chapter.

Pumpkin Night review
This manga has been really popular on instagram so i thought i would check it out. I was kind of disappointed because the art was great and i would've thought this would've been at least a volume. The story wasn't really fleshed out across the manga and we barely got to know the characters, although the cliffhanger gave a slight bit of interest and i could only hope that it might be a bit longer but unfortunately that probably will not happen. Basically if you're looking for a manga with barely any backstory and barely any info on the characters that is mostly full of
gore you have came to the right place. For me I kind of enjoyed this manga for a quick read any nothing more.

Pumpkin Night review
Started off as your typical slasher manga. Very akin to older horror/ slasher films like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream where all our characters get picked off one by one in gruesome ways.
Plot was basic and our main "antagonist" Pumpkin Night had kind of an interesting backstory. All the characters are idiots, especially our main male protagonist, but I could overlook it. It's the same formula over and over so none of it really mattered or stood out in anyway. What mattered was the art and the gore and that was 10/10.
However it all took a down hill turn when Trump showed up.
Enjoyment just about plummeted and the story line shifted. It used to be a thriller but now it's just turned into a joke. The translators think its funny to throw memes and racial slurs in like its 2011 or something. And I can't take it seriously in the slightest.
I'd recommend this manga if you just want a gore fest, but honestly it really isn't even that anymore. The great art gets completely overwhelmed by the sheer stupidity of the dialogue, the plot, and the characters. Now I'm really just struggling to finish it. I've come this far already, I can't quit now. But I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's growing cold.

Pumpkin Night review
If you arrived to this little gem with any hope for a compelling story of F I N E spooks, drama, betrayal and thriller, you can throw those expectations right out the proverbial window, because this one goes above and beyond to make sure you're reading a well-made thrash black comedy.
Now, to make things clear, I was indeed reading a scanlation. You might wonder why this is important. Now, I don't know if the author over there originally put any memery into this work of art but the boys and gals in charge of translating this beauty seriously went out on the town, and just had fun with this title the way Animax had fun with Ghost Stories. To say this gives the title a whole new perspective is putting it mildly because, though it is subtle, it goes right for the memetic heartstrings.
Piled up with that is just downright exceptionally well drawn torture porn, gore fest, and the all around "I-feel-bad-but-I'm-chuckling-anyway" atmosphere, it's well wroth a read. The manga clearly concentrates on delivering the superior slasher vibe, so it thankfully lingers little on any bullshit drama one might come up with. Call it a first-class storytelling of a B-movie plot.

Pumpkin Night review
Pumpkin Night is a story about a girl that use a pumpkin mask and kill the people who bullied with her in the past. At first I was excited and found it very interesting, but a little later I lost interest and just continued to see how far Naoko would go.
I expected the story to be something like Ring: Naoko would follow some of her classmates on Twitter and terrify them to death. It also seemed to follow a tense suspense, that the main characters would always be afraid of Kirino's return and what she could do, but the story gets boring when the character of the "main suspense" appears at all times, always killing someone and totally disappointing in the suspense.
The characters are all stupid and dumb, especially the main character. The villain is an interesting character, but still very stupid. The characters take stupid ideas and do stupid things like in every American Serial Killer movie.
So far the only positive point I have given, was in relation to the art that is well done (and every manga gore must have a good art).
Anyway, if you want to see a cool story with a lot of suspense, I'm sorry to say that you will be disappointed (just like me), but if you just want to see a gore manga, with a lot of shocking scenes and a lot of blood, you'll enjoy it.

Pumpkin Night review
I'm writing this review, because upon looking at the manga initially on YouTube, it truly was something else, scary and interesting characters, but it all went down the shithole when they introduced this character which is literally just Trump, yep Donald J. Trump, it ruined my immersion, but I still fairly enjoyed the manga, but what really ruined it for me was how every translation had memes just forcibly written into the panels, no matter where I looked, everywhere was filled with these shitty translations with memes like there's no tomorrow, I had never seen such an interesting story ruined by the translations, and not
because they're badly translated, it's because the translators apparently don't give a flying fuck about the manga and just decided to do that.
The thing that most stands out about this manga, is the quality of the artwork, detailed drawings and very gory scenes, especially in the initial chapters, I'll spare you the details to avoid spoilers, but it's hard to take the manga seriously with flaws like these. I might re-read it once it's done serializing, but for now I've dropped it and don't want to know much about it.

Pumpkin Night review
This manga is nothing more than the movie "Carrie" if she wasn't psychic, had 100 Stealth, and could dismember people with the flick of a wrist.
You think there's more than that? There's not, I've given you the entire premise.
The characters are forgettable, none of them have a very distinct personality and only serve to push the meager plot forward.
Gotta give credit where it's due, the art is absurdly well-done for such a poorly written manga.
Edit: Upon reading chapter 16 I take it all back, the sheer brilliance of having Naruto's father as Trump not only makes this the greatest political critique since Watchmen but it adds the subtle yet supple taste of incompetence. I have never seen a manga so bravely subvert the traditions of 1. Not using the name Naruto any more for obvious reasons. 2. Not bringing real political figures into a fictional work.

Pumpkin Night review
This review is regarding an unfinished manga, and there will be no spoilers here.
As of this review, this manga is only up to date on chapter 14, and when the manga is fully finished and i have read it all, i will write another review on it.
This manga may seem like a story mostly just there to give it's readers the most disgusting depictions of death possible, but that's not all. This manga is not just a gore-fest, and it's not just about some random high school girl going rampant. There is a reason to why she's doing all of this, and trust me, when you read this, you'll get pretty engaged into the story, and not just the gore. Every chapter ending serves as a great cliffhanger, having you need to see the next chapter.
Reading this, it reminds me of classic American slasher horror films back in the 70s to 90s, and obviously this manga author might have been inspired by these films and or is a big fan of them, especially John Carpenter's Halloween, as Naoko, our masked killer, seems to be quite similar to him of all. Being someone who is a huge fan of horror, I am really enjoying this, and other fans of slasher films out there might want to check this one out.
Artwork is pretty decent, and there's not too much to say about it here, only other than the fact that the artist seems to go a little hardcore on how Naoko kills and leaves her victims.
If your not one for gore, i'd step away from this, because you may feel a little sick looking at some pages. But trust me, this manga is not just for gore, as it has a pretty decent story all in all and im really interested in the fate of the main character and the killer herself as the story goes.

Pumpkin Night review
it started off great, with good characters, art, and plot. but around 17 chapters in the translator thought it would be funny to put in old cringy memes and racial slurs and promote his Patreon. If you can let the fan scans get past you and focus on the story and art its a 10/10 manga. But the translator made the manga unenjoyable at times, he would take sections of the manga and copy pages 3 times in one chapter just to make shitty jokes. Overall i think it had a decent plot, past part 1 my enjoyment slowly decreased little by little, but it
was still a decent experience. Each chapter should take a little less than 4 minutes to read, maybe 2 or 3, they can be as short as 10 pages per chapter.

Pumpkin Night review
Initially, the story line is quite strong and substantial, following the cliches of your run of the mill slasher flick. However the English translator for the manga greatly deteriorated and diluted the plot as he attempted to infuse a plethora of racial and political comedy. An example of this would be the introduction of the character of Naruto's father, whom the reader will discover to be a representation of Donald Trump.
I believe that the manga had potential to constitute the unfairness of the aristocrats/upper class, however by the cheap and offensive comedy, the meaning behind it completely falls apart.
If you enjoy graphic gore with elements of psychological horror then you might be able to look past the weak and cheap development of the plot and find pleasure in this series, which I have personally done.
Overall I believe that this was a beautiful piece of art, in terms of the immense details used when drawing the panels, yet the story could of been done significantly better. 7/10 is my generous rating.
