Love Celeb review
Love Celeb is a Shoujo, Smut, Romantic, Comedy which had a great deal of promise. However apart from the adequate art and raunchy romance, there’s nothing particularly outstanding about this manga, except its poor attempt in portraying the entertainment industry.
Kirara Nakazono is a young girl who dreams of being a top idol but her career is going no where. That all changes when a very wealthy and influential young man named Ginzou Fujiwara (Gin for short), develops an interest in her virgin body. As you’ve a probably guessed, this is yet another ‘hates him but falls in love with him’ shoujo manga, where our heroine eventually becomes some hot guy’s plaything. So you can expect the usual unrealistic crap the like Gin being able to buy his way into anything from the media to politics but this manga really takes a step further in detracting itself from reality. The main story about Kirara trying to get into the entertainment industry but somehow ending up as Gin’s object of desire… That in itself was unbelievable. But then things get outrageous when the story begins to tailor more towards the sex-charged romance rather than making the entertainment industry premise remotely logical. I really want to know what went through this mangaka’s head during the radical TV Drama chapters? As for the characters in question; Kirara is your typical weak heroine and is also the source of some amusing comedy. Then there’s the main hero, Gin, who is the very reason behind to subtitle (King+Egoist). So you can expect their relationship to be that of a helpless rabbit, easily prayed upon and ravaged by a ravenous wolf. However there are two wolves competing for this easily attainable prize and the other is her manager… some guy with glasses. I forget his name but that shows how much of an impression megane-kun left. There are other characters that seem to come and go as they please, but they're just forgettable, not to mention those making cameo appearances from Mayu Shinjo’s other works. Most of the people who have read Mayu Shinjo’s other works may find the artwork to be the best thing about Love Celeb. On the other hand this particular reviewer finds the art to be something you’d find in any typical shoujo manga. The are male characters all have tall handsome figures and a lot of the shoujo veterans will certainly enjoy seeing Gin all hot & bothered and in cute chibi form. The panels with any background scenery are fairly scarce; nonetheless when the backgrounds are shown it’s usually decently drawn. Overall Love Celeb is really a manga that I have mixed feelings of. The smutty romance is pretty good, along with the comedy in the beginning and so are Kirara’s struggles to become an idol. However the story kinda sucks, as a lot of the sudden developments and random bullshit will leave anyone cringing in disbelief. What’s worse is how badly the heroine is treated (abused, beaten, continuously molested, etc.), and yet she seems to enjoy it like the lustful little tramp she is. True these are some pretty strong feelings for an unbiased reviewer; but having read something created by a mangaka, who clearly abandoned all logic to please the hyperactive fangirls, would get on any rational-thinking person’s nerves. *Be warned, there's A LOT of sexual content.* |
Love Celeb review
This was one of those stupid girl awesome boy manga/animes
but unlike others she actually gives up her dreams for a guy, which is stupid x 100 Unlike the other type of shows ive watched like this, the girl is extremely hardworking, honest, and kind while kirara's pretty much a slut and always craving more and is too weak against other guys about it and they do it While gin is to obsessive, dominant, and aggressive about it Also, i dont get why kirara's still with gin when he sexually abused/mistreats her Probably the best thing about this anime is that sometimes gin acually seems to genuinely care about kirara and im a sucker for a happy ending for a better version of the type w/o smut, abusing, etc. try Special A Kaicho wa Maid Sama Saiunkoku Monogatari |
Love Celeb review
Need to get this out while it's fresh in my mind.
Love Celeb is the story of Nakazono Kirara's journey through the entertainment industry. This is a story that flip flops itself so much that the only thing that is constant from beginning to end is the single minded slutty focus throughout the entire series. Story I gave this a 4 because the story doesn't even stay in the same tone it was when it began. It begins with Kirara's manager pushing for her to have sex with as many influential people as she can and then flips to where every bishie in the series is trying to get a piece of that ass. It is very inconsistent and it seems that sensei is trying to come up with random plot elements towards the end to fill things up. The series sputters at the end as it dies. Art I enjoyed the art. The males, as per any shoujo manga look pretty and ethereal, while our main heroine is rather plain looking in comparison. The backgrounds, when they are not non existent due to the constant sexing, are well drawn. Character The characters are my main gripe with this series. Gin, our main hero is a COMPLETE asshole and potential rapist in the making, and he basically terrorizes Kirara until she gives into him and his whims. And the manager encourages Kirara to sleep with any influential man and whore herself out in chapter 1. Kirara herself is a complete spineless character without the ability to say no. Around chapters 20-25, the series shifts focus and ALL of the characters seem to do a complete 180 and any of the personality traits (except for Kirara) that they had in the beginning switch. It's, I feel, rather a cop out. Enjoyment/Overall I feel that this series is basically something that you should read if you want to: 1. Read almost porn, but don't want viruses 2. Are waiting for your favourite release to come out. If you are not bored and have nothing better to do, skip over this, if not the comedy and outright audacity of the leads will keep you engaged for a little while. |
Love Celeb review
Love celeb is I think my # 2 if not #1 favorite manga. Written by Shinjou, Mayu with a great story to boot. One thing I really love about this story was it introduced me to such a great artist and writer. Shinjou really does well with all of her works. She is well known for the way she draws her male character. The males contain long necks, fingers, legs, broad shoulders and narrowed eyes and pointy chins. With such a unique artistic talent it is very different from anything else in the manga world. Kirara is a character I can see myself connecting
with. Everyone at some point in their lives wish to be successful and possibly famous. Kiara is just like us in her dreams in becoming an idol. Like many people she seems to have morals that cause her resist losing her virginity. Many woman/girls dream of finding a man like Gin who teats her well, truly loves her, and has the ability to hold back his desires even if he wishes not to.

Love Celeb review
So I started reading this series and a few days ago and I finished the same day. I don't know why I kept reading. I have never encountered such a series before. I kept thinking that this was a really long porno because the only thing that made sense when it was happening was the sexy times. There are no realistic situations throughout the whole series! While I read, I either laughed at the nonsensical direction of the story or read with utter and complete confusion.
This unbelievable train of ludicrousy starts off right from the first chapter when her manager ENCOURAGES the MC, Kirara, to sleep with people so that she could become famous, making it seem like it was the best way to become famous (just throw the idea of talent and charisma out the window because that doesn't matter in this series). In fact, the mangaka made it clear that ANYONE striving for fame or power was having sex some way, some how, and makes it even clearer that this series could not continue without sex to push the plot forward (as sad as that may sound). Because of this, the series was really similar to a porno (all though it lasted way longer than some of the guys did, AM I RIGHT?). As well as having no substantive plot, the ideas portrayed in the manga are really quite awful and absurd (if I haven't already stressed that enough). The men in the series always had the power over women during sex and in general (that isn't always the case however, equality). This very series is an excellent example of what it means to pander to the patriarchal and overwhelmingly misogynistic ideals that are seen in many real world societies (albeit, still exaggerated from the truth). I understand that gender roles are Japan's bread and butter but I think the mangaka overstepped the line by a mile. I also have some questions for the mangaka regarding the series, though he won't answer. I just thought these were some things I would like to point out (WARNING SPOILERS HERE, SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH): Are there no such things as STDs here? Protection? Birth control? How many times can someone have sex in a day? The characters shouldn't be able to walk after that, right? How can you decide to retire from being an idol when you are 16? How can you decide to retire from anything when you're 16? How is it possible that a girl could get flat out wasted from one goddamn sip of alcohol? How does Kirara eat so much and yet keep her small body? How many times can the mangaka actually objectify these women to abusive relationships? How can the main character keep staying near people who have either raped/sexually assaulted/roofied/or almost raped her? And also, is there such a thing as rape in this world? How can so many people donate bone marrow? Why would they donate bone marrow just to get into a concert for free? Does the mangaka know how much that hurts? Do they know how long it takes to recover from those?? I honestly don't know why I read all of this. I thought that it would get better if I kept going but oh no. Nonono. It just got worse. I would give Love Celeb a solid "...wut" rating if it were available. |
Love Celeb review
I just finished reading this manga in one day. It's hard to put it down once you start it. I really enjoyed it because aside from it having some steamy love scenes (aye karamba!) there is quite a bit of comedy that actually leaves you cracking up.
I will say, their portrayal of the entertainment business leaves you to roll your eyes a bit lol because although there are some truths to it, it was exaggeratedly dramatic. After a while there are some things you may find slightly annoying about the female main characters level of "ditzziness" but it's tolerable. This manga does move kind of fast, so that does leave you to feel like some good chances for character development were lost but it's not that bad. The funny parts make up for it because it's not always so serious. Overall I enjoyed it! |
Love Celeb review
Though my reviews usually suck, I really had to write a review for this manga. This manga really moves at a fast pace. Development grows too quickly between the characters. I don't think that there was a main plot to this manga to start with. Even though my opinion doesn't matter, what matters is what you, as the reader, think about the manga.
To start: The story like I said earlier, moves at a fast pace and it takes so less time to figure out what's going on. The art I thought was really nice, it wasn't all over the top, but the detail was very outstanding. The characters are one of the reasons why I think the story is fast pace. Development grows way too quickly between the characters where usually in other manga it has to develop a little more slowly. Overall like I said, my opinion doesn't matter at all. It all depends on the reader.. Thank you for reading. :) |
Love Celeb review
This could be the worst romance manga i read
The story is basically non-existent. First, it jumps from one point to the next suddenly. At the beginning it is the main character, kirara, trying to become an idol when her manager pushes her into selling her body for fame where she meets Gin. Somehow, after that the story turns into how she falls for him and their tries to have sex. Second, it has a lot of plot holes, the villains appear randomly and are not given depth at all. They just exist for the sake of the plot. The characters are also bad. The main guy, Gin, is abusive, childish, possessive and so full of himself, he basically pushes himself on the main girl, kirara, until she gives in and "might have spoilers" when he wants her to quit the entertainment industry he goes as far as forcing the companies that offered her jobs to withdraw their offers and then putting kiss marks on her so she would be refused from a modelling job especially after he told her that he wants to marry her!!! "end of spoilers". Kirara, is a completely stupid girl with no courage to say no. At some points I felt like slapping her for her idiocy. I have no idea how someone would keep on working with a manager that forces you to have sex with a guy you do not like and take on jobs that you feel embarrassed with. The only redeeming factor in this manga is the art, compared to Mayu Shinju's other mangas, the characters are drawn beautifully and the background however scarce when drawn it is really good You really can read this manga if you want read almost porn or you are bored |
