Kowloons' Ball Parade

This is the first-ever review for this series and I really think it has potential. Haikyuu ended last year, leaving Jump without any sports manga. I hope this series goes on to do well, as based on the first 60 pages I see a lot of potentials. The story like most sports anime is kind of basic, the protagonist wants to join a sports club, he excels in one area of that sport but needs improvement in others, he meets a secondary protagonist who has a different personality and abilities that complement him, its all very cliche: which is why I think the story and characters are the weakest aspects of the manga. What I think sets it apart is that the protagonist fails to get into the dream baseball schools, and has to create his own club to pursue his dream, which is a very unique concept for sports manga, and I think going forward if the authors can avoid cliches this could become a great sports manga. The art style is clean and I enjoy the sort of hybrid style of haikyuu and dr stone. The action itself is well-drawn and I can tell what is happening which impressed me considering how busy a sport like baseball is. Not all panels are great but some of them show immense levels of detail. I enjoyed what I read and am looking forward to reading more, but I hope the action is a little more fleshed out. Overall, I think there is room for improvement, but the series has great potential, and considering how it fits Jumps core audience and there are no other sports manga being serialized right now, I believe this series is unlikely to be canceled.

Kowloon's Ball Parade is the first manga that I am doing review on. I have watched some baseball animes such as One Outs, Ace of Diamond, etc and I feel like this manga will be good and enjoyable as the animes I have watched.

The characters' design and art are cool (current characters 6/10 and art 7/10) . The story looks promising. So far the idea is to create a formidable team with underdog players for a Fallen(/Former) Powerhouse School. I like that. Sounds interesting and fun. The current chapters- 7/10

You may like the story too. So if you are new to sports genre manga, this might be a good start.

I am looking forward to more of the chapters.

Endless potential is at the root of all that's great. Whether it's musicians or sports players, you can see someone's potential right from the start.
This might be a little exaggeration but I feel that way about this fledgling series, I can see this becoming a great story if all the cards are played right.

Much like Hunter x Hunter, it has an average introduction but the slow introduction of other characters in the team will certainly make the story shine bright. I also wish to see our two main characters more fleshed out, especially Ryudo.

I can't really criticise anything currently because not much has happened yet, the only thing I can think of is the generic introduction. Aside from that, the pacing is good, the art is very clean, and there is a clear love for baseball.
I hope this series goes places, especially at a time like this when there's no significant sports manga in the mainstream.
