Resumen
The story follows Alice Seno, a 15-year-old girl forever shadowed by her older sister Mayura, who is good at everything she does. At school she is known as "Mayura's little sister" and is relentlessly tormented by the older girls who know that Alice is too weak to fight back.
Alice harbors a deep affection for Kyo Wakamiya, a handsome upperclassman who is on the archery team with Mayura. On the way to school one day, Alice rescues a white rabbit from the road despite the danger to herself, but gets rescued by Kyo and receives a bracelet with a single red stone. The rabbit she saves, however, is no ordinary rabbit. She reveals her true form to Alice and introduces herself as Nyozeka. Alice is told that she is destined to become a Lotis Master. The Lotis Masters use the power of words and communication to enter the Inner Heart of others. It is a powerful ability to be used carefully as Alice soon finds out.
Using the power of the Lotis Words, which reveal themselves to be in the form of runes, Alice accidentally makes her older sister disappear during a dispute over Kyo, whom Mayura had begun dating. Alice then must use the Lotis Words to try and bring her sister back from the dark. She is joined by Kyo who proves to have the Lotis powers as well, and by Frey, another Lotis master who had trained with the masters and arrives with the intention to marry Alice. Unfortunately, Mayura has been taken by the power of the Maram Words, the dark reflection of the Lotis Words. Their only hope lies in Alice and Kyo becoming the legendary Neo-Masters to discover the lost word bonding both Maram and Lotis.

Alice 19th review
This is probably one of my favorite (if not my favorite) Yuu Watase work. The story about the power of words is very poignaint, espeically for a shy writer like me. I think this may have some of her most beautiful artwork of any series. I was definetly caught up within the first volume. The only complaint I have is that the ending was rushed and the story could have been expanded more. I really liked the characters introduced at the end and wanted to know more about them. But overall, I highly recommend, especially if one is new to Watase's works. This is a
good series to start with before conquering the mammoth Ceres.

Alice 19th review
The plot was interesting, the characters loveable, the story developed well and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a great lesson of how to overcome things in your heart such as hate and I really enjoyed it. Alice was a great character who I can relate to a lot and she was passionate and loveable, as was kyou. I liked Kyou because he played the heroic part well and also showed great courage when fighting for love. The plot about finding the lost word was great and all the other characters were funny and great and Alice's nee-chan was brave in the end.

Alice 19th review
Possibly one of my favorite mangas ever. The best part about it is that they fight with words, and not meaningless magical powers with a bunch of fancy words. It really stresses inner-goodness, and believing in yourself, and having courage. Plus, the characters are beautifully gorgeous, especially the guys! I loved the romance, and I loved how Alice seems like the true underdog of the story, and ends up being on top. The plot is also really good, it's not your traditional plot and will keep you wondering what will happen next!
Best parts: When Chris shows up, because he is hilarious; anytime Alice and Kyo interact romantically; when Nyozeka makes any sort of comedic appearance (she's not so fun when she is serious); FREY!!!! Worst parts: Mayura...she's a huge part of the story, but I really don't like her. Alice's devotion to her is kind of annoying, because Mayura just seems so full of herself. I also don't like when the story deals with her dad...it makes me sad and bored at the same time, somehow. But all in all, it's great, and I would recommend it to anyone!!!! |
Alice 19th review
This was the first manga that I read and I loved loved loved it.
I think that it has 3 big points to be just that awesome; 1/ The main idea is brilliant and even though such think as Lotis words don't exist, we can translate that words have a big power in our relationships so we have to be careful before we say anything. 2/The caracters are real; everyone has their own scars and insecurities which make it easier to relate to them. The story is basically about correct a mistake and we can feel our characters' change for good. 3/The art; I love love love Yuu Watase's art and you can tell in a second that it's her work. She knows how to bring the fantastic theme and create beautiful scenarios. I recommend it for people who enjoy stories with a bit of fantastic, romance, drama but with some comedy. |
