24 Colors: Hatsukoi no Palette review
it's a story that revolves on Art and how someone who lacks the voice to express his/her feelings can show it in canvass and colors.
The manga is one of the prettiest art i have ever seen, probably the best. The main couple seem to have fragile personalities in contrast to the other pair, both having a sunny and hopeful feeling in them. I like how the pairings are based on how they seem so 'meant' for each other with their interests, personalities and the way they express themselves. All in all, this was a lovely manga. Chiba Kozue's works are just so beautiful. |
24 Colors: Hatsukoi no Palette review
It’s a cute story but nothing beyond that.
My main complaint is misinterpretation of the word love. Possibly my own issue though. After my own series of events, I tend to lose interest if love is declared immediately. You have a crush; you are not in love… and I know, oh so many manga’s fall into this category. Nanaka falls for Chihaya pretty much at first sight. They have similar personalities, they understand each other, and I see the attraction. But literally this manga takes place over like four days tops? And on day two Nanaka is confessing her love. It’s cute and sweet and all that, but it’s nothing I haven’t I seen before and seen done better none the less. The ending bothered me as well. It’s a happy ending but only on the short term. Would I recommend it? Sure why not, it’s only 5 chapters, took me probably 15mins at the most to read. Would I read it again? Nope. Story: 5 [OK] Art: 8 [very good] character: 4 [decent] -literally no development so ehh enjoyment: 7 [good] overall: 6 [fair] |

It's only five chapters, but the author pulls it off nicely and it will work for some.
For some, their sense of realism may bring them to object to the development of the story; they will think that the behavior/emotions/thoughts of the characters, how they seem to fall in love so quickly (you'll see what I'm referring to when you read), is absurd. But I really don't see this as an issue because it works really well with the character of the protagonist and her love interest: they choose to communicate with art rather than words because their emotions are intense and it's difficult for them to express themselves. Sometimes I feel like this too! Maybe that's why I can empathize with the manga, and wholeheartedly agree with the way it's carried out. It actually inspires me a little; I feel like I should approach art a little similarly now. By the way, I'm a high school senior who decided to go into media production and design rather impromptu-ly, having never taken art seriously until I thought rather belatedly about where my true likes lie. :3 Anyway! Irrelevant information aside, I don't feel like the story is weird or hard to accept. If you can empathize with what the characters are feeling, if you're a little like them, then you'll understand that their actions and thoughts are natural and the five chapters drawn are perfect to convey that. They (the chapters) pour out a lot of the feeling of the characters so that the manga really generates that intense emotion and it washes over you. ^A^ You'll feel a little like them and maybe be inspired a little. And I think you'll understand that even if others don't really get it, the manga-ka actually did a pretty nice job! But if not.. well, I'm afraid it wasn't a success, the manga wasn't written for you. ^3^ You'll have to read to find out whether it works for you or not. |

Simple and beautiful. It takes really talent as a writer and an artist to show the colours that we feel though only black and white frames. She pulls if off so beautifully and makes you want to paint. My fingers are itching for a brush even now, as I force them to type...

"I'm not good at talking...so i can't...express my feelings in words very well...but when i draw, i have the feeling that i can really express what i feel..."
After i had read this, i just had to write a review of it. There are a lot of other Shoujo series, but i think that this is one of the best i have read. Sure it's pretty short (Only 5 chapters) and that is the only negative thing about 24 Colors : Hatsukoi no Palette. 24 Colors: Hatsukoi no Palette tells us a story of a girl who loves art. She is pretty shy. She and her friend joins a art club where is only 2 other members. They both are guys. There is this cool and grumpy one and the happy and cheery one. Like in most of Shoujo series there is also a love triangle. The art is beautiful. After reading this i'm going to look into other Chiba Kozue's works. The characters aren't really that outstanding, but i think it's better that way. Also i love how the chapters are named as: Shell pink, Baby blue, Chrome orange, Ruby red and Pure white. It's original and refers to art. If you like shoujo series i suggest you to try this one out. ^.^ And i have to apologize my bad english >.< |

A very good story about a boy and girl who love to paint and draw. Two girls join an Art Club at their new High School and only two boys are in it with them. Very heart warming story. Beautiful art and meaning behind this story.
Characters are alright in this story. I would have liked to see a bit more depth to them. But, I guess I'll never get to see more depth. For a shorter manga it is very good. The romance is fluffy and almost deep in a way. Read this manga if you love Art, Romance and slight Comedy. |

I rarely rate nor recommend stuff, but this story deeply affected me. Yes, it is short and the plot is unbelievably rushed yet the ending and the words made something spark within me..
See for yourself, five chapters won't take too much time |
