Horimiya is a great manga. It isn't a master piece and it's not meant to be one. Likeable characters, great art and a story that will sometimes make you laugh and sometimes make you cry.

I think that the manga is more about character development and interaction, but it's still a good story that can be a bit cliché sometimes. It doesn't have exaggerated and unnecessary drama.

They're likable and all of them get their deserved character development. Kyoko is awesome, she'll make you laugh a lot, she is a strong woman (different from most female main characters in romance) and she can be cute a lot of times. Izumi is not your typical shy character; he's a great, strong, funny, and well developed character and his piercings and tattoos help a lot with his uniqueness. All the secondary characters are great too, specially Kyoko's family.
