Mushishi review
Mushishi is a masterpiece. Plain and simple, it has all the ingredients that make it a really enjoyable read. The stories are interesting and varied, the art matches the feel of the story and is consistently good, there aren't any characters that will annoy the reader and more than most are highly likable. My overall enjoyment while reading Mushishi is a straight 10. There is a strong balance of tension, release, excitement and catharsis in each chapter which makes the whole reading experience amazing. This is a masterpiece.
So why do I give it an overall rating of only 7? Mushishi's problem is that while each individual chapter easily outdoes most full length manga, there is little in the way of an overarching story and the similarities between each chapter slowly eat away at the enjoyment of each chapter. As a result, the pacing of Mushishi starts off perfectly fine but gets steadily worse the further you read as the lack of plot or character development becomes more and more obvious. After a while I began to loathe the first page of each chapter when I realised that the chapter would be just another short story from the main character's adventures. This kind of storytelling won't be an issue for everyone. If you don't require long form narrative in your manga then this issue (the only issue with Mushishi as far as I'm concerned) won't bother you. Even better, if you are a fan of anthologies or are partial to the iyashikei genre then this is definitely one to read. All in all, Mushishi reminded me a lot of Aria- a slow burn where every chapter is a 10/10 but the fact that there isn't any strong connection between chapters makes the overall experience drag on and lose its magic. My recommendation is that everyone should at least start this manga. Regardless of how far you get into the full 50 chapters, I can guarantee that it is an enjoyable read.

Kiriko review
This is a pretty typical splatter-revenge horror manga. The story is nothing special, it's about four adults on a school reunion to celebrate the 16-year anniversary of the death of their classmate, the titular character, Kiriko. Then, that same girl begins to pick them off one-by-one in orderly fashion. It's pretty straightforward and I was really trying hard to like it, but I just felt bored throughout its entirety. The art was fine. I was just unimpressed with the gore, and the monster didn't look that scary to me. But the gory scenes do have a considerable amount of detail and may look cool to
a general audience. I guess I was expecting something more than that. Because I wasn't shocked or disgusted one bit. The fact that this is also supposed to be about revenge from what the adults did to Kiriko in the past didn't do it for me either. It's filled with cliches and it's just so predictable. The characters are also far from interesting, and the story moves in such a predictable way (except for the last chapter). The last two chapters is where it gets interesting but the twist at the end was expected from a mile away. I'm just disappointed more on how absurd and generic it was rather than being scared by what it had to offer. The only real reason I read through the end at this point was to find out why Kiriko died, and the revelation one of the main characters had concerning that was neat. Everything else though was unremarkable. If you're only reading this for the gore, then this might be for you. Other than that, I personally wouldn't recommend it, but check it out and see for yourself. There might be something you'll like.

Cutie Honey review
If there's one thing a manga should not feel like, it is a chore. And, unfortunately, this is one of those pieces that will, something you're drawn in by solely by the cover art, and live to regret. According to Wikipedia, this is one of the very first Magical Girls manga. And let's just say there's a reason we talk about Sailor Moon, not Cutey Honey.
So, onwards with the review. Story - 3 We're introduced to our main character, Honey, in the wake of her creation by her "papa", a scientist whose dreams have, apparently, "come true!". It's also the moment where you, as the reader, begin to regret opening this seemingly charming book: the art looks like it belongs in a Japanese grade school's hallways. I'll get more to to that in the art section. The storyline then revolves around Honey, who fights against criminals. Each "twist" of the plot gets progressively worse and worse, supplied with the worst gore I've had the "luck" to set my eyes upon. Again, art section. There seems to be some effort to make it work on the writer's part, but in the end, it just falls flat. Art - 3 It's not just the fact that it was written 1970s that makes the manga so bad, because you can't even get a charge of nostalgia from it. It's the fact that the artist can't draw the same eye twice, the ridiculous anatomy, paired with the unbelievable characters, that makes this eyesore tick. And if you're only there for the occasional ecchi, the art manages to screw that up as well, making the characters look stiff and unreal. Characters - 2 It seems kinder to give the characters a two instead of a flat out one, even though some would argue that's the score they deserve. I honestly can't tell what's worse: the character's one dimensionality, or the fact that everybody and their father (literally) wants a piece of Honey's body. When I say there's no characterization, I mean that there is no characterization to be spoken of. There's just Honey, the teachers who would risk jail for a night with Honey, the S and M rapist teacher who gets a kick out of kicking little girls, and villains who wear paws on their head. Enjoyment - 2 Like I said previously, it feels like a chore just to read the first chapter of this thing. If I can't even get into your porn, then forget about it. It isn't even one of those mangas that's so bad, it's good: it's just flat out bad. Overall - 3 I feel like this score is too kind. The plot sucks, the dialogue is grating, the art is horrible, and there is literally no reread value. And the fact that the first chapter/volume (not sure which) is 216 pages long? It's 216 pages too long for your time.

Shingan no Yuusha review
Ima be real with y’all fools. This manga right here is stupid good. It is one of my personal favorites as of chapter 21. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if it was a cliche manga or things were too absurd, but what really mattered was that it was fun to read. The story might not be good, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an entertaining experience. Like damn this story was funny for no reason and damn is was sure as hell interesting. It’s like that joke you see in parody shows where they follow all the cliches to the highest
extremee for an episode, but in the manga the cliches have an impact on the story and have everlasting impact that you don’t see at first.
Overall I would say just read it for yourself. It might be a 9/10 for me, but I can see people thinking it was ass for the overused story and plot elements. P.S would be a 10/10 if there wasn’t so much fake rape cutscenes like damn wtf author-kun. I know they aren’t going to get raped in the end, but chill out dawg.

Shingeki no Kyojin Volume 0 review
As much as I love attack on titan I can not deny that this is just bad... Isyama has come so far with his art. The art in this is as close to shit. It’s super bad.. I guess you should give this a read it’s very short and you get to see how good he is at drawing now. He draws more dynamically now and has great some great art panels in attack on titan. This manga is basically a comparison with how he used to draw. And how he is drawing as of now.

Ana Satsujin review
At first we are given a snapshot of what it would be like to be in a relationship with a serial killer. That is then further expanded upon by learning about what kind of person would want to be in a relationship with one and succeed at it. Most people who read the manga enjoy that.
The controversy resides in the second half of the manga, because the main idea was fully threshed out in the first half the author decided to use the world he created to put a twist on the classic damsel in distress storyline. I enjoyed it, for me it gave the manga a greater sense of depth and it ended pleasantly, not being too predictable while still maintaining expectations. Seeing familiar faces return and be more involved in the plot while stilll being woven around the main characters was enjoyable and gave me a smile. 8/10 was very satisfied, got what I wanted out of it with bonus plot.

Taboo Tattoo review
Im re-doing this review because of how much i regret what i said the last time and im going to make this short and as least painful as possible.
The plot is about your average high school kid in japan (not very popular in school, female childhood friend, you know the type) named seigi, who saves an old man from some thugs. After saving him, this mysterious old man then gives seigi a crest, which burns a tattoo onto his hand, giving him special powers. After this happens, the government gets involved. Seigi begins to learn to control his powers, fights random thugs/villains (there are some really awesome ones by the way) and gets deeper and deeper into this government world. If you like the shounen genre, good battles, and the "main character gets powers and conquers his problems" types, then you will get an enjoyably good read out of this Story 7, Art 8, Character 7, Enjoyment 9, Overall 8

Deep Kiss review
As with any anthology, there will be bad and there will be good stories. I'm just glad that there's at least one story here that I actually liked (unlike another manga anthology I read recently).
1) The Gaze - 1/5 star This is horrible. Basically, this girl is really into a guy, but when she confesses to him he says she's not his type and then promptly shows her what kind of girl he likes: which is a stereotypical valley girl (or japan's version of it, anyway). She then proceeds to COMPLETELY CHANGE WHO SHE IS just so she can date him. It works, they're happy and have a lot of sex, but... you know... that's not HER. It's that guy's version of her. Some things happen that makes her doubt his "love" for her and they almost break up, but then he's like "nah, I actually like you". And that's the end. Sorry, but I'm not buying it. I'm pretty sure that he only "started to like her" just because she went through all those changes to please him. I really hated this story. 2) Deep Kiss - 3/5 stars All this female main character wants is romance, but because of her big boobs, guys just want to use her for sex. One day she meets a rude boy and she finds out that he's only rude to girls he doesn't like. So she plots a plan against him: she'll seduce him, have sex with him and then dump his ass! That'll teach him a lesson! Except, you know... she ended up liking him. This is kind of cliché, I know, but I actually liked it. It ended in a cute way :) plus, the sex scenes were great. 3) Magic Fingers - 1/5 star It seems that with this particular anthology, it's always going to be a hit or a miss. This time, it was a BIIIIG miss. The main characters are already in a relationship, but much like the girl in the first story, this girl is willing to let go of her individuality just because of her boyfriend. Actually, it's worse: she explicitly says she likes how her boyfriend's "magic fingers" turn her into a sex toy. Umm... okay????? To top it all off: her boyfriend gets busy with work and she gets pissed at it and demands for him to choose between his job and her. WHAT?!?!?! This girl is crazy, desperate and not at all relatable. I think she's the worst of all the 4 girls. The only redeemable thing about this story is that the sex is very, very hot. But to me, that's not enough to raise the rating. It was terrible nonetheless. 4) Summer Memories - 5/5 stars Ah, THIS is the one that I actually liked. The last girl in our anthology just broke up with her boyfriend and decided to move back to her hometown, where she meets her old friend and high school crush for the first time in ages. She finds out he has a "girlfriend" and gets really sad, but still makes a move on him anyway. Things get steamy. They start to hang out in secret and oh man, they're actually SO cute together!! I actually started to root for them, even though I absolutely despise cheating. But, well... let's just say that the story "fixes" that problem for me, which is why I gave it a high rating ;) It's sweet, it's hot, it's short, it's honestly the best story this anthology has to offer.

17-sai review
17-sai is based a true story that happened in Japan decades ago. However, when the reality was extremely shocking and violent, this manga only keeps the beginning, meaning the kidnapping of a 17-year old girl.
To quickly summarize the real life event : a group of thugs/delinquents kidnapped a high school girl after her part-time job, brought her to one of the guy's house, raped her, tortured her and eventually murdered her. In this fictionnal story, only the kidnapping & raping elements are kept. To clarifiy things up : no, there is not too much sexual violence (scenes are extremely censored) or physical violence (some characters get beaten up and one eventually finds death). Here comes my first negative point : I expected a really dark story, giving me some chills making me afraid of human nature. 17-sai did not, or at least, I could read it without having many emotions. To give another example : Metamorphosis/Henshin/Emergence (same manga, different titles) also tells a very hard story, but it gave some real feelings / emotions. For some people, they cry and lie down in their bed, for some other, they unzipped their pants & start fapping or for readers like me, they stop their chapters with a very huge anger and only wish to beat the culprits up. Sadly, I only felt a bit like "I'd like to do this stuff to these f$cking scumb$gs". It didn't break me or shock me, especially because the number of rape scenes was very low compared to the synopsis. This is obviously a very grave story and I wish it never happens to anyone in our world. If I were to use keywords, hum, disgusting, horrible, terrible should be the ones coming in first, naturally. What I think was good about this manga, is that it gave a fictional story which could happen in real life. It clearly shows how human nature can variegate : from a regular high school boy looking for some adventure, to a disgusting person who cannot even look himself in a mirror. But eventually, what's terrible, is that none of the culprits in the story (it is not shown but supposed) have any regrets for what they have done. Evilness level is really high, scary on some points. But 17-sai never truly scared me, as I could not be emotionally involved in the story (it has nothing to do with the fact the victim is a female while I'm a male). The author - in my opinion - fails to attract by force his reader, you only stay as a spectator of a story, instead of breaking the fictional wall and entering the story at 100%. So my personal recommandation : if you are too sensitive, avoid this manga, it will only give you nightmare. If you are curious, it should be a "decent" introduction to a dark manga with rape thematic.
