Fight Class 3 review
throughout the story both the art and storytelling transform which brings the reading in on the journey. the artist is very good at conveying mood with the art. the story develops from the average school fight manga (past few dozen chapters the school hasn't even been related) so it can be difficult depending on what you are going in for. The main character goes through a drastic change at a point in the story. that's when everything changes.
the beginning and most recent parts of this manwah are unrecognizable with each other. they'd sooner be assumed to be different stories from different artists. so it can be difficult to rate this. if you want intense grueling fights that have stellar art and a character that you can't look away from. and development aplenty you'll like the second half. if you like fun school comedy about a kid growing and becoming stronger with some action you'll like the first half. its worth the read no matter what you want. The art in the last few chapters are worth the read alone. |
Fight Class 3 review
I am biased towards martial arts manga and am therefore giving it a 7, if i didn't like martial arts manga i would have probably given this a 6 at most.
The story is probably the weakest part, the main plot line just serves as a way to open up a highschool setting manga whereafter it's promptly forgotten. Sometimes this plot is brought up again as justification for certain characters behaving a certain way only to remind you that the plot existed in the first place. Midway through there starts to open up a secondary main plot line but the character involved in this plot line is uninteresting and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere for now at least. Disregarding the main plot lines the manga is actually enjoyable to read it doesn't just feel like filler. The art is probably the main sticking point, it's original and the fight scenes very well done. The only weak part here is that the scenes where they're not fighting seem to have less effort and reverts to being pretty simplistic, if you're mostly interested in the fighting parts this can be overlooked. The characters are ok in my opinion. There's a variety of recurring characters that actually have interesting things that they are doing and some of the main characters have some backstory. Main problem here for me is the fact that i don't care for most of the characters, because of not enough backstory so not being able to relate to them. You get to know most of the personalities of the characters but it's not written well enough that you're able to really empathize with them well enough in my opinion. If you enjoy martial arts manga with well drawn fight scenes, go for it but don't expect a very deep story behind it. If you don't really care for art styles and are looking for amazing writing go look elsewhere. |
