Bremen review
After reading even a part of the chapters, you will probably feel the need to listen to some rock music, as the manga doesn’t have a soundtrack, but only the idea of music, so the story has some impact over the reader. Yet, you may get anxious because the plot evolves not so rapidly. Only after many chapters, all the group members will gather together. So, be patient if you wish to read this manga to its last chapters. On the contrary, in the last chapters, the action evolves very quick, so the story isn’t very well balanced.
Still, I think this is a funny story, so you should enjoy reading it.
Another minus for this series is the way the view over life changes from the start to the end. I mean… firstly, it sounded like it was realistic or so, but in the end, I was extremely surprised to find out that the series had a very complex psychological theme, about the origin of Romio’s voice. The graphics are pretty good, I don’t have anything to complain about from this point of view. Also, the characters are funny and charismatic. I recommend Bremen to people that enjoy music mangas. |
Bremen review
Despite it's flaws, Bremen is still quite a manga. It starts off with Kasuga Romio and Hino Reijii fleeing to Japan, with interests of starting a band. Now any of you who have read "Beck" or any other music related manga, are in for a surprise. Bremen is much more about Kasuga kicking ass than it is about music, but don't get me wrong, music has a huge role in the plot.
Story: 6.5/10 Why so low? Because the arcs are usually barely connected and quite repetitive. The wrap up for the story seemed thrown in and unsatisfying. The plot also seems to constantly rely on coincidental meeting/timing, and it got a little stale for me. I'll admit the plot had potential, but my expectations were not met. Art: 8/10 I never found anything too amazing about the art, but it was never really an issue. Characters: 8/10 This is probably where Bremen shines for me. We have a few fully developed characters (well, I wasn't a big fan of Ran). Ryo had a lot of development as did Kasuga. It's a shame that Reijii wasn't really developed, but it's not that big of an issue. If you're like me, then you'll be rooting for Kasuga the whole time. Enjoyment: 7/10 While I doubt that I'll list this as one of my favorite manga, it's quite interesting. I definitely recommend it. |
Bremen review
This manga had potential, but it was all wasted on some horrible plotwist, so horrifying that made me nauseous. The characters and the story are overall good, and you could even say it's a masterpiece, if you don't take the ending as consideration, but the ending is so bad that is hard to ignore. As the story proceeds and you get to know the characters better and see they slowly rising as a band the enjoyment is joyful, but it gets rushed near the ending, and I'm positive the author just wanted to get done with it, even if it meant to throw all the
manga in the trash. In the end was sad to have the fun stopped and spited at your face, but I would easily recommend it, especially for anyone who likes rock music or mangas.
