The whole thing is high-octane and rarely drops in tension. The fights and the narratives are generally good, but it may be confusing if you rush while reading. All the characters are unique and likeable, and the art is distinct and coherent. If you go into it with an open mind, then you will definitely have an enjoyable experience. There are obviously some flaws, usually relating to stand power continuity, but none of them take anything away from the overall quality.

You don't need to have any prior knowledge about JJBA before reading this, but it might not be as enjoyable. Part of the reason of why it's good is because Araki takes the good concepts from previous JJBA parts and coagulates them into Steel Ball Run. Seeing the improvement is his writing and art makes it even more better, which is why I think that it is one of the best manga of all time.
