Ziga review

Im not going to go into too much detail as this manga doesn't really have much to comment on, but I will do my best to express my opinions as clearly as possible.

Story: The story, if you can call it that, is a rushed mess that dumps its entire plot onto you through lazy exposition, has the main character go through a full character arch, and introduces the main antagonists within 5 pages of the first chapter. And this pace does not slow down, at all. In fact, by the end of the first chapter, the story has done the equivalent of an entire 5 chapters in any other manga. Its sloppy, and poorly implemented.

Art: The art when done well is really quite solid, using jagged lines, solid shading to express dimension in the monsters. This quality however is only shown in a couple pages. The rest feels like a lower quality version of My Hero Academia, and it feels very lazy at its worst.

Character: It doesn't exist, every character in this story is a one line caricature, with the worst offender being the main protagonist, who becomes the most popular kid in school, top athlete, and a musical prodigy within one week...because a girl told him a single line of encouragement.

Enjoyment: The only enjoyment had out of this is from the few pages of great art, and the ironic comedy found in the inept writing, it is dull and uninspired to the point of absurdity.

Overall: If you are new to shounen anime, and are within the ages of 10-12, you might get some genuine enjoyment out of this, but only on the most mild level. Personally, I find this series to be excessively dull, and not worth the time of day. If you are the aforementioned type of reader who wants an action story with slice of life moments go read Hokenshitsu no Shinigami or World Trigger.
