Doubt review

I started reading this manga because a popular YouTuber recommended it saying it was one of the best horror manga. I'm a big horror fan and finding good horror anime/manga is hard so obviously I jumped onboard and read Doubt.

It's a pretty short read, it only took a few hours but was it good? Well, this is all just personal opinion if you think this is the greatest manga good for you. But I did not, in fact it is one of my least favourite. I gave it a 5 overall to be nice but honestly it deserves a 4. The whole time reading it I felt kind of bored, even though I just read it a couple days ago I can't even remember anything notable that's how forgetful the whole thing felt. (I literally have to go on wiki and get a summary of the story again)

I remember being pretty excited to read this, games where teens are forced to kill each other are my jam hence Danganronpa being my favourite game series but you'd be surprised about how boring they could make it.

The plot for the most part made no sense and then to make it seem interesting they tried to throw in all these weird plot twists which just made it more stupid and confusing. The only reason I didn't predict the plot twists in this manga was because they were too stupid to guess, well actually I did get one right (and spoilers up ahead so beware) that Rei was actually alive. I guessed that because it was the most cliche thing you could do in a horror scenario not to mention Danganronpa already did something like that, the mastermind was actually the first one to die but surprise their alive! Yeah so I really hated that plot twist.

The best score I gave it was for it's art, a 7/10. It's.. alright? I mean I didn't find it amazing in any way but it wasn't terible either I enjoyed the art style for what it was.

Most of the characters felt the same and forgettable except maybe the main character and Rei but it's not like I was attached to any of them at all, then again like I said Doubt is pretty short. Maybe it could have been a little better if they stretched out the plot and developed it more. Personally I like the sequel Judge a lot more, it's longer and had some decent twists except the end one which was so stupid but what could I expect? So would I read Doubt again? Nope.
