Kimetsu no Yaiba review

[This review contains very light spoilers] I started reading Kimetsu no Yaiba a couple weeks after the anime ended and I definitely don't regret doing so.

~Story~
Unlike most shounen series' Kimetsu no Yaiba has a more serious story. In the very beginning our MC Tanjirou Kamado loses his entire family except for his little sister Nezuko although she was turned into a demon. Through this entire manga Tanjirou goes through each day trying to turn his sister back into a human. In the first 10-ish chapters we see Muzan Kibutsuji and we get the gist that defeating him will be a bit harder than Tanjirou could've thought. When we eventually find out about the 12 upper moon demons I started to realize that this might end up being in a way more in-depth than what I'd expected.
Like most stories of course the plot left some things un-answered and it certainly wasn't perfect but all in all it's still enjoyable.

~Art~
At some parts I think the art is really well done but some other times I think it's kind of derpy but that doesn't mean its bad. The art at the beginning of the manga is alright but it really improves later on. I think that the art was especially nice during the fight scenes because you can really tell what is happening and its not like random things going on all over the page.
Overall I do like the art style but it isn't the best I've ever seen.

~Characters~
It's very rare for me to love all of the characters in a series but I definitely do for Kimetsu no Yaiba (with some exceptions). First of all, I love the main four, Tanjirou, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu mostly because of how much fun it is with them together. Tanjirou is really sweet and kind and I love that he just has empathy for everyone even the demons. Nezuko is absolutely adorable and when she is tiny she is so cute I cannot handle it lol. Inosuke is a bit loud and annoying at times but it's really fun watching him be so crazy. Zenitsu is a huge cry baby and just loves Nezuko but even with him (I would say over-reacting but I would probably be scared fighting demons too lmao) being how he is, he's really cool when he gets serious!

Kimetsu no Yaiba has so many side characters and once you are introduced to the pillars/hashira the series gets even better! Personally I love Tokitou Muichirou he is definitely favorite pillar out of all of them but they each have their strong points even if they seem really mean at first like Genya or Shinazugawa. Sometimes even the demons can be like-able. I think once the series has more characters it makes it so much more fun and they all have really great designs!

~Overall~
I would definitely not say Kimetsu no Yaiba is perfect because it isn't but I love it none the less. Sadly the manga ended yesterday as of writing this but I think it has been a really nice ride with tons of fun moments and even some that left me crying. I think that the author could have made a better ending but like I said the series isn't perfect. I am really glad I watched the anime and decided to continue by reading the manga and if I went back in time I would do it all over again.

I loved Kimetsu no Yaiba and I am giving it a 10 purely based on my overall enjoyment. I will undoubtedly read Koyoharu Gotouge's next work! I would definitely recommend Kimetsu no Yaiba to anyone who really likes shounen or just almost anyone in general!
