The moment I clicked completed i felt quite because after a long time I read a manga which spoke to me in another way. I see many people disliking this series and labeling it as nothing special but I think that this was a breath of fresh era in this genre.

Let's start with the story, it is rather simple and for some already seen but for that is not the charm of this manga. The real charm is in its side stories. You have such beautifully written characters with their unique stories that a complex main plot would be too much. In that aspect I can compare it to the way Furudate (Haikyuu!) gives every character a nice and clean backstory. Every character could be the main character of this manga. This manga will make you feel things. Yes, I do agree that the first arc shown in the anime was kinda boorish, but so are many other introductory arcs.

Let's turn to the characters for a bit, Tanjiro is one of the most likeable MC's in my opinion, he is the true pure soul. Some may dislike that but for me I had a great time following his journey. What I like about the way he is written is that he is on the same level of strength as many other characters and him being a special snowflake of MC is rarely emphasized. Tanjiro is always working together with someone, characters are always supporting each other which was actually great to see.
What I appreciate in this manga that no female character was neglected nor portrayed as a damsel in distress.

As for the art of this manga it is so different in such a beautiful way and there are panels which are drawn in a very laid back style but throughout the manga you begin to like them. There is something in Gotouge's style which really speaks well with the whole story.

I must say that this manga is the type that kicks you right in the head, you are hurt, you cry, you smile and it reminds you that there is no plot armor in real life. Because of this I could far more relate to this than some other mangas.

My advice is to give this manga a chance because you will be getting on a very exciting rollercoaster ride.
