Kimetsu no Yaiba review

In comparison to the anime, the manga's problem with flow is more evident. Things seem more rushed, fights end more quickly, and there's less exhilaration. There seems to be more comedic relief scenes as well. The tension isn't really there. One thing I do find poking at me annoyingly is the repetitive "lessons" or "empathy" for the monsters, as if Tanjirou is some God that freed them. There has to be a monster that is a monster because they are genuinely bad, right? I'm waiting for that guy to show up.

Also, Tanjirou seems to be grasping at "new" techniques more and more. I get it that someone who is weak always has room to grow but the problem with him grasping at "new" techniques is that he presents them like they were inside in all along and he just needed to awaken to grasp them. I don't dig these kinds of things. You either had an idea of it but couldn't use it, or you learn a completely new one. This idea that these "new" techniques were dormant and a flashback to the time he saw/learned it, to explain how he able to utilize the power now, is poor writing.

Overall, still a fair enjoyment.
