Tokyo Ghoul:re review

First of I just want to say, I love the original Tokyo Ghoul Manga. I will mention my main gripes with this story in comparison with the original TG.

CHARACTERS
RE like the TG had a shit ton of characters. However, unlike TG, a lot of characters were completely meaningless in the story. They didn't really serve any purpose. For example, Touka is completely negligible in RE, she is basically Kaneki's( my G) trophy wife who didn't really do anything in RE. Characters like V, Furata, and Washuu were painted up to be the big bags, but in the end, they did as much as my nan on a rainy night in Stoke.

Story
Now, this is my biggest problem with RE. In the first 60 sixty chapters or so, it's on par with TG. But when a certain person dies, (you know who I am talking about if you have read the manga), the story takes a complete nosedive. Ishida must have said fuck it, and there RE off a cliff. That's how shitty it was. It turned into some shonen-Esque manga. It was now filled to the brim with fight scenes that take away from character development and such. Also. Ishida starts doing a lot of ass pulls. Death post chapter 60 is now completely meaningless, characters start coming back from the dead like Kabuto was spamming reanimation jutsus. The ending was also so bad like you wouldn't believe it. Ishida just wraps everything into a neat little bow in a way that makes no sense. Although, I was happy that my G, Kaneki finally got the happiness he so deserves.

I rated it a 7/10 just because I love what he did with the OG, and because Kaneki and co deserve this score, and also because of Kaneki's pure happiness. If you haven't noticed yet, I love Kaneki. Sad that RE faded out.
