Bloody Junkie

Those of you that crave the excitement of a psychological drama in a death game PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AS THIS ONE DIDN'T START IN THE FIRST PLACE.

After reading the synopsis, checking the genres, reading people's recommendations, any psychological drama lover will probably take a look at this one. However, one must be wary of how much chapters this one has. This manga starts off average like any other death game but that's all it does because the entirety of the 9 chapters just introduces characters and ends in a cliffhanger.Literally nothing has happened apart from a mini arc for the past of a introverted antisocial high-school girl with bullying problems.Then they introduce characters and end with a wolf in sheep's clothing cliffhanger and that's the end. One can say that there was no plot at all. The only good thing to note is the artwork, especially the characters. The artwork itself portrays the characters personalities well so that any reader can tell what they are like just by looking at them.

It's sad to see this manga being brought down by too few chapters as it really did have the potential is be a decent manga rivaling Battle Royale or similar works. At any rate, I recommend that like minded readers shouldn't read this as it would be a waste of time unless you feel like writing a plot on your own.

I've gotta say that while Bloody Junkie started off a bit fun there's really nothing special about it. It's completely and utterly your average battle royal manga.
I will admit the concept of having a bunch of people locked in a death game with only outsiders to guide them through the game did make it interesting at times but it was really just that. Nothing especially innovative was done with it, though the outsider's comments did add some humor.

The characters were visually appealing (the art is decent. proportions can be wonky at times) albeit very predictable as characters. I did get attached to one or two of them, but fleshed out characters in this manga come few and far between; for good reason however...The series ends very abruptly due to discontinuation.

This is the only reason I gave the story such a low rating. It's hard to be pleased by a story when it ends right at a really bad cliffhanger. Luckily the author does give out a rough game plan of how the story was supposed to go at the end, so if you don't mind visualizing the rest of the story yourself, give it a read! Otherwise don't bother. You'll just disappoint yourself.

Anyone reading this is probably here because they're attracted to the manga Cover. So was I. I've read the review another person wrote, saying that this manga isn't worth reading. But I thought, 'Hey it can't be that bad!'

I was wrong. It IS that bad. The manga has an interesting concept where the people participating in the 'game' is forced to wear rings around their neck, which also functions as mic, along with an earpiece with which they can hear what the viewers of the game are saying. Interesting.

While the MC was there because he wanted to find his brother, a quite common reason but still could develop into something interesting.

And so I kept reading. When I reached chapter 9 though, I was confused as the story was in the middle of a conflict, and I asked myself, 'How is the author going to resolve the whole story in like 40 pages? What about the brother? What the hell is going on?'

I had this bad premonition. 'No, It can't possibly end like this.' But it did. It ended there, without the conflict being solved. And where did the brother go? No appearance from him at all!

Seriously, this manga had potential. And I don't know why the author didn't continue this, or why it's left off there, but I can say for certain, DO NOT READ THIS if you're looking for survival kind of manga like Real Account or Kamisama no Iutoori ni (both are some of my favorite manga)
